BIKING TOURS
Bike through the world like a local
Explore some of the world’s most captivating landscapes on two wheels. Our bike tours, crafted in collaboration with the EF Pro Cycling team, wind through sun-drenched Spanish coastlines, past French châteaux, and over rolling Italian hills. With a range of bike options to suit your style—from high-performance road bikes to easy-riding e-bikes—we help every cyclist find their perfect match.
FAQs
No, we don't allow travelers to bring their own bikes on our cycling trips. Instead, we provide high-end Cannondale bikes for all biking tours. These bikes are specifically chosen for the terrain you'll be riding and are well-maintained to ensure your comfort and safety throughout the trip. You’ll be able to choose between a performance road bike, e-touring bike, e-road bike (extra cost), or road racing bike (extra cost).
You won't need to carry much while riding. We provide water bottles and bike bags for your essentials. These bags are perfect for storing snacks, a light jacket, sunscreen, and any personal items you might need during the ride. Your main luggage will be transported between accommodations, so you can focus on enjoying the ride without the burden of heavy bags.
Each biking tour is assigned a physical activity level to help you choose the right fit, from Leisurely to Advanced. For those who want extra support, we offer e-bikes on most tours, making hills and longer distances more manageable. Most days feature a morning ride and an optional afternoon ride. You’re more than welcome to skip the afternoon ride if you prefer more downtime or want to explore on your own. We recommend regular cycling practice before your trip to ensure you're comfortable with the distances, but the flexibility of our tour structure allows you to adapt the experience to your fitness level and preferences.
Safety is our top priority. We provide helmets, conduct thorough bike checks, and offer safety briefings before rides. Our experienced Tour Directors are trained in first aid and carry first-aid kits. We carefully plan routes to avoid heavy traffic areas where possible and provide support vehicles on all bike tours. We also partner with local emergency services for additional support if needed.
While not mandatory, we strongly recommend travel insurance that includes coverage for adventure activities. Our Trip Protection plans cover a wide range of scenarios, including emergency medical expenses and evacuation. Given the nature of biking tours, having comprehensive insurance provides peace of mind and financial protection.
Each cycling tour is led by two experienced Tour Directors who are also experienced cycling guides. They have intimate knowledge of the region's history, culture, and geography, as well as the specific routes you'll be riding. Your Tour Directors will provide both on-the-bike and off-the-bike support, including:
- Leading and supporting the group during daily rides
- Providing detailed route briefings and overviews of local history and culture
- Coordinating logistics and arranging meals
- Offering basic bike maintenance and riding tips
- Ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all travelers
As experienced cyclists themselves, your Tour Directors will ride with the group and are trained in first aid and bike safety procedures.
Our trips blend active adventure with cultural immersion. When you're not biking, you'll be exploring nearby towns and cities, tasting local wines, and savoring regional cuisine. You might visit historic sites, participate in cooking classes, or enjoy scenic drives through stunning landscapes. Many of our hotels offer amenities like spas, pools, and beautiful grounds for relaxation after a day of cycling. Each tour is crafted to provide a well-rounded experience.
No, you won't have to share a room unless you're traveling with a companion. Our standard pricing is based on double occupancy, so if you are traveling solo, you will pay a room supplement fee for a private room. We welcome solo travelers on our tours, and you'll likely meet many other solo adventurers. At this time, we don't offer roommate matching services.
We carefully select accommodations that balance comfort, local charm, sustainability, and convenient locations. Depending on the destination, you might stay in mountain lodges, family-run inns, or upscale hotels. All rooms have private bathrooms, and many offer stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. We specifically choose hotels that can accommodate bikes and are typically located in areas where you can start your rides directly from the hotel, maximizing your cycling time. In more remote areas, accommodations might be simpler but always clean and comfortable. Many properties have amenities like restaurants, bars, and wellness facilities to help you unwind after a day of biking.
