Epic adventures in the most untouched of wildernesses

From cities framed by volcanic cones, to towering trees and swirling rivers that have inspired backdrops of blockbuster hits like Avatar and The Lord of the Rings—New Zealand boasts a nearly endless list of activities and landscapes that have rightfully earned it the status as an adventure hub. In New Zealand’s North Island, you’ll experience roaring waterfalls and geothermal playgrounds. Feel your heart pumping as you blackwater raft in Waitomo through twinkling glowworm grottos, cycle through unspoiled redwood forests in Rotorua, and trek in Tongariro National Park, home to three active volcanic mountains. Trade lava plateaus and crater lakes for mountains, glacial valleys, and wineries as you enter the South Island, where you’ll brave swing bridges in Te Anau, kayak through Milford Sound past fur seal colonies and waterfalls, and raft whitewater rapids on Shotover River. You wanted an adventure, and you'll get that and more as you traverse New Zealand's North and South Islands, discovering Māori culture and their sacred principle of "Manaakitanga"—the art of hospitality and respect.
